So you've had the beautiful newborn photoshoot - what's next!?! 

Cake smash photoshoots are a great way to commemorate your child's first birthday. This will often be the first time you child will have tasted cake and their reactions (although very varied in my experience) are always fun to record. 
If your child's 1st birthday is in the summer you may opt for an outdoor photoshoot. As we can't do vintage baths outdoors, outdoor shoots have more family and portrait shots of the birthday boy or girl to make sure you get the same number of images in either package.

Cake smash photoshoots with Bright Apple Photography are broken down into 3 different stages

Stage 1 - Beautiful photos of your child before we get the cake out 
Stage 2 - The Cake Smash! I will change backdrops and props around, we will bring out the cake and let the mayhem begin! 
Stage 3 - Vintage bath, we need to get them clean after all

Cake smash photoshoots typically last 1hour, although each of the above stages typically last less than 10 mins (posing in studios is the last thing on childrens minds at this age, we keep it short and sweet to hold their attention), set and outfit changes do take a little while!

Cake smash photography costs £325 for a weekday shoot and 25 edited photos available via digital download (weekend cake smashes are £350).  Whilst I provide all backdrops for the shoot, you need to provide your own cake, as a photographer I am not licensed to provide food and it is not covered by my insurance. I will of course happily give you guidance on the best cakes to choose (or make!) as well as guide you on the best clothes to choose for you child's shoot, its also lovely to include some of your child own toys so personalise the shoot so please have some ready! Sadly this isn't really a shoot for siblings, there is a lot going on and (believe me I have tried on many occasions) and the focus shifts from the birthday child, so to ensure we have have lovely quality moments I keep this shoot just for them, a very special shoot for their birthday.

Final images are ready to download 3 weeks from your shoot date.
